How to prevent users from finalizing notes if the POC is expired?

Purpose:

To provide administrators with instructions for enabling a system setting that prevents users from finalizing clinical notes when a patient’s Plan of Care (POC) has expired, ensuring compliance with documentation and billing requirements.

Scope:

This procedure covers:

• Accessing the POC Expiration Lock setting in Case Settings > Note Rules
• The functionality and benefits of enabling this feature
• How this setting prevents note finalization when a POC is no longer valid

Procedure:

1. Navigate to Case Settings > Note Rules
2. Locate and enable POC Expiration Lock
3. Save changes

There is a new Setting in Case Settings > Note Rules > POC Expiration Lock 



This will prevent users from finalizing notes if the POC is expired.
