How to set the HelloNote URL as safe? (Apple/Mac/Safari)
This article guides Apple Device users to bypass or set the HelloNote website as safe for access.
1. Bypassing a "This Connection Is Not Private" Certificate Warning
If Safari stops you from accessing a site because of an invalid or self-signed SSL certificate, you can authorize it directly from the warning screen:
- Click Show Details on the warning page.
- Click visit this website at the bottom.
- Click Visit Website to confirm.
- If prompted, enter your Mac user password or use Touch ID to permanently trust the certificate. [1]
2. Resolving "Deceptive Website" or Phishing Warnings
If Safari blocks a site through Apple's fraudulent site database, you cannot safelist a single domain. You must either turn the filter completely off, or bypass the warning for that session: [1]
- To bypass it temporarily: Click Show Details on the warning page, then click visit this unsafe website.
-
To turn the warnings off entirely (Not Recommended):
- Mac: Go to Safari > Settings > Security and uncheck Warn when visiting a fraudulent website.
- iPhone/iPad: Open the Settings app > Apps > Safari and turn off Fraudulent Website Warning.
3. Removing Screen Time Web Content Restrictions
If a domain is blocked because of Apple's parental controls or Content Restrictions, you can explicitly add it to the allowed list:
- Mac: Go to System Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy > Content Restrictions. Under Web Content, you can choose Unrestricted Access or explicitly add the domain under the allowed section.
- iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Web Content. If set to Limit Adult Websites, tap Add Website under Always Allow and enter the URL.
4. Clearing Bad Cache or Cookie Data
Sometimes Safari forcefully redirects an expired or old connection to an unsafe version of a site. You can reset Safari's memory for that specific domain:
- Go to Safari > Settings > Privacy.
- Click Manage Website Data.
- Search for the domain name, select it, click Remove, and select Done.
- Try reloading the page.
