How to set up authorizations based on the number of units rather than visits?
Purpose:
To enable administrators to configure insurance authorization rules that track therapy units (rather than visits) for more precise treatment limits and billing compliance.
Scope:

- Creating unit-based authorization rules
- Linking rules to specific cases/treatments
- Setting case-wide unit limits
Excludes: - Visit-based authorization setup
- Global billing rule configurations
- Insurance-specific authorization workflows
Procedure:
- Access CPT Rules:
- Navigate to Insurance Tab
- Scroll to CPT Rule Setup
- Create New Rule:
- Click New CPT Setup
- Configure Unit Limits:
- Select Case for association
- Choose Treatment type
- Enter Units Allowed
- Enable Per Case for case-wide limits
- Save:
- Rules automatically enforce unit maximums

To do this simply go to the Insurance Tab, scroll to the bottom and locate the CPT Rule Set up.
Click on New CPT Set Up
1. Select the case to link the rule to
2. Select the treatment
3. Indicate the number of units allowed
4. When Per Case is selected it will limit the max CPT unit used for the entire case
