How to add a Modifier in Claims?
Purpose:
To provide instructions for adding or modifying claim modifiers in HelloNote EMR, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with payer-specific requirements.
Scope:
This article covers:
- Accessing the modifier update feature
- Adding/editing modifiers in claims
Excludes: - Creating new custom modifiers
- Bulk modifier updates
- Payer-specific modifier rules
Procedure:
- Navigate to Claims:
- Go to Billing > Claims
- Select claim status: Ready to Send/Audited/Submitted
- Update Modifier:
- Click Actions
- Select Update Modifier
- Double-click modifier field
- Enter modifier code
- Click Save

Under Billing > Claims > Ready to send/Audited/Submitted - A new column in Actions has been added to Update Modifier
Simply double click on the filed to add a modifier then click Save
